Vaccines prevent around 2.5 million child deaths globally each year. However, there are many who still miss out on the benefits of immunisation.
There is a need to empower, support and strengthen immunisation programs around the world. NCIRS acknowledges this need and aims to expand its role in immunisation to have a greater impact on disease prevention in the community, both within Australia and internationally, with a particular focus on our regional neighbours.
Our internationally recognised expertise is increasingly being sought from regional and global organisations. We have staff who have a breadth of experience in and are driven to contribute to the field of global health through immunisation. In return, international activities enrich our people’s experiences and provide new skills to staff within the organisation.
